What exactly is a supplemental instructor (SI)? What do they do?
A supplemental instructor is a student who provides additional support to the students enrolled in an SI driven course. SI’s hold office hours and group study sessions to review important course concepts, answer questions, and offer study tips.
How do I schedule an office hours appointment with my SI?
You can find your SI’s availability and schedule an appointment on Accudemia. Visit Accudemia at https://oglethorpe.accudemia.net/login. Don’t forget to use “.net”! For the Fall 2020 semester, all sessions will occur via Zoom.
How do I join a group review session?
Log in to your Accudemia account to view available (and upcoming) review sessions. After you sign up for your preferred session in Accudemia, you will be provided with the meeting ID for the session. Simply follow the meeting link in Accudemia to join the session. For the Fall 2020 semester, all sessions will occur via Zoom.
How will I know if my class has an SI?
How will I know who my SI is? o Your professor will introduce your SI to the class. You can also log in to Accudemia to view information about your course’s SI. Please note that not every course has an SI.
How can I find out information about my SI’s office hours?
You can find your SI’s office hours on Accudemia. You will be able to browse their hours and schedule appointments.
Who do I contact if I need to cancel an appointment with my SI?
Log in to Accudemia and navigate to the appointment that you would like to cancel and click the “Cancel” button at the top. If you would instead like to reschedule the appointment, then click “Reschedule” and follow the provided directions.
When is it best to meet with my SI?
Most students find it beneficial to meet with their SI early and often. SI’s support all levels of student learning, but they’re especially great at providing additional help and clarification on lecture topics, homework problems, study strategies, and lab experiences.

How do I join a Zoom meeting?
Each instructor will have a personal meeting ID (PMI) for each Zoom meeting. You can find this PMI by logging in to Accudemia and viewing your upcoming appointments. You must schedule an appointment in order to view the PMI. When the time comes for you to join your session, please click on the Zoom link located within Accudemia to open your Zoom session.
